Went into work late today to go check up on the work. Was pleasantly surprised to see that all the hacking was done and the tilers were prepping the walls for tiling. Even more surprised that the plastering works had begun.
Here, the ID had instructed a plumber to create a temp pipe that the workers can use to get water for the cement mixing etc..
The view from the main gate of my house. See the mountain of sand?
The tiles that we had chosen for our MBR toilet. The light blue is for the toilet walls and the black is for the shower area. The floors of both toilets will also be black/dark dark grey tiles.
Another look at the tiles. There are very fine lines/grain design on the light blue tiles.
The view from the MBR toiet facing to the MBR room door. See the big gap on the lef? Thats the 5 foot hole we hacked between the walls of the MBR room and room 2. We intend to put a foldable wooden door there. Reason we decided to hack this is because we wanna put our wardrobe in the next room which will be like a study. Our MBR is small esp after we put our King size bed in so we dun wanna end up squeezing everything in. Furthermore, when we eventually have a baby, that will be the baby's room.. so we have direct access to the room at night and can keep an eye on the little one.
I don't know what you call this but its the edging that they put at the wall edges before they begin platering. We need to plaster our whole house cos its rock stone surface right now. Been advised to cos rock stone surfaces tend to get dirty esily (trap dust) and is damn a pain to paint.
Another look at the edging work.
That's Ah-Chai.. the tiler i think. Malaysian - Chinese
Our kitchen, all hacked and being cemented.
A look into our MBR

OK, thats all for now. I think me and wifey will be paying a visit tomorrow to our place again cos she wants to see it for herself. I'll be leaving for an overseas assignment for 3 weeks to London on Monday so wifey will have to overlook the work. I'll be back just in time to go select lights and fan and by the 2nd week of October we should be completed. All looks good so far!
